Day 4-Arrived in Cape Town Friday night and was met by our Airbnb host Christiaan. He graciously picked us up at the airport and took us to his newly renovated apartment. It’s located in the heart of Cape Town and is just right for walking to most of the local sites.

Since we were so tired from our journey, we opted for a spin around the neighborhood to locate the closest grocery stores and have a quick bite to eat.
Sneaky Pete ordered Carpaccio and so I had my first local food, Springbok, yummy, very lean, with a smokey, mildly gamely flavor. The side dish of pesto sauce was outrageously good.

They really know how to party on Friday night in Cape Town. We are on Long Street. It’s very popular becauce of all the restaurants and bars, which seemed to stay open most of the night. We slept through all the revelry. Not any worse than First Thursday in the Pearl.
Oh, one more thing, our building has 24/7 security manning the front gates. This is evidently necessary as the city has significant property crime and the police don’t have much interest.
